The “estimate” or “estimated repair” on a CARFAXINSPECTION Canada Vehicle History Report reflects the estimated value associated with the damage, while the “claim amount” represents the total dollar amount paid out by the insurance company to repair or replace the vehicle (see: Total Loss), or the recovery amount.
Please note that the insurance claims listed on the Vehicle History Report do not include medical payouts, damage to other vehicles, property damage, towing, rental cars, or any other incidental damages.
For more information, we recommend contacting the seller/owner of the vehicle. They may be able to provide additional details.
Before purchasing a used car, we suggest obtaining a CARFAXINSPECTION Canada Vehicle History Report, taking the vehicle for a thorough test drive, and having it inspected by a qualified mechanic or auto technician to ensure it’s in good working condition.
